Worship Leadership Vocal Virtual Auditions

Are you a part of the Worship Choir but interested in exploring vocal leadership opportunities? We've created a pathway for you to explore that. We know this can be an intimidating adventure so we've created a way that hopefully disarms the pressure of a live audition.

Holding a Microphone

One of the primary objectives of our Worship Ministry is to encourage the congregation to sing and praise not observe. Holding a microphone on stage is an important means of helping our team fulfill this biblical vision of gathered worship. Consider these worship leadership values with careful contemplation before proceeding.

Servant Heart Over a Performance Mindset

Worship leadership is servant leadership. Our heart behind our leadership is not to be seen or heard but to serve the congregation by placing a priority on them. (2 Corinthians 4:5)

Humility Over "Me First"

Our heart is to hold our role of worship leadership very loosely. No one is "owed" an opportunity. We humbly and willingly give room for others to serve and embrace whatever role helps the worship team best fulfill its purpose. (Philippians 2:1-11)

Excellence Over Perfection

We acknowledge the difference between being perfect in our abilities and working hard to present our best. We don't have super high expectations but we do think of the Lord in our preparation to fight off laziness in hopes of sharpening our skill and giftedness. (2 Corinthians 5:6-10; Galatians 6:9; Philippians 3:12-14)

Blending In Over Distractions

Removing distractions in our worship services places a priority on the congregation. For example, knowing when a person is ready to play an instrument, sing a solo, or run sound is important. This requires honesty on our part and humility on your part in order to pursue change and growth. (Psalm 150:1-2)

An External Demonstration Over a Mere Voice

Worship leadership is not just about providing a voice. You also serve our church by demonstrating externally your joy for the Lord. We are not trying to manufacture an expression of worship but we serve our body by diligently pondering the work of God in our life and visually demonstrating our praise to Him. The Psalms provide ample means of heart motivated external praise of our good God. (The Psalms; Ephesians 5:17-21; 1 Peter 1:8-9)

After prayerfully considering our Worship Ministry values please proceed through the following steps.

Step ONE: Online Form

Step TWO: Audition Tracks

Below are some links for you to practice on your own. Once you're ready just record yourself singing them on your phone (while playing these tracks on another phone or computer) and then email them to Cassidy and Jeron. These don't need to be perfect or high quality. We just want to get an idea of your voice and abilities. Once you've emailed them don't panic if you don't hear from us immediately. When we have had adequate time to review them we will be in touch.

What should you expect after this? First of all, we will be honest with you. Given the explanation of the worship values above we take seriously our role in leading and encouraging our church to sing. We will encourage you to embrace what we feel is best for our church and also be willing to share how you can keep practicing to further sharpen your skill and gifts.

Please distinguish between the Female and Male tracks for your audition.

Female: This Is Amazing Grace - Melody

Female: Yes I Will - Harmony
